The 2024 call for the Nordic Gender Equality Fund included an earmarked effort for projects that focus on gender equality in climate action in the Arctic.
The general guidelines of the Gender Equality Fund applied to projects applying for funding from the earmarked action. The funds could also be used to finance parts of a larger project. A maximum of DKK 500 000 can be applied for from the Gender Equality Fund.
The Nordic Committee for Co-operation and the Arctic Expert Committee co-financed activities under the Nordic Leadership for Gender Equality in Climate Action programme with DKK 250,000.
The initiative is linked to the Nordic commitment A Green and Gender-Equal Nordic Region 2022-2024, which has three objectives:
In 2020, a targeted call for proposals was issued with the aim of combating gender segregation in the labour market. The call gave those who were granted funding the opportunity to work longer-term for change in Nordic co-operation projects lasting up to four years. The call targeted co-operation projects intending to develop and implement relevant solutions to problems related to the gender-segregated labour market. The targeted call comprised four million DKK in total.
2020 The project, Share the Care, will provide new knowledge towards a less gender-segregated health care sector, a heavily female-dominated sector. The actions implemented are largely based on recommendation from previous research “Men in Nursing Education: Mapping Educational Practices, and Student Experiences in Iceland, Denmark, and Norway”.
