A Nordic Approach to Closing the Gender Gap
Despite the Nordic countries being championed as leaders in gender equality, significant labor market inequalities remain. These inequalities, in turn, are closely intertwined with many life choices. Decisions of how to manage work, career and family are made considering the labor market conditions and policy environments that individuals face.
Policymakers can influence the choices that individuals make through policy design. In this project, we will study empirically how individuals respond to changes in governmental policy. Through a Nordic research collaboration, we will focus on specific policies in two areas: childcare, and equal pay. Ultimately, the project will contribute with knowledge on how governmental policy can affect gender equality on the labour market.
