Pushing for progress and would benefit from collaboration and more resources?
NIKK administers the Nordic Gender Equality Fund on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers, with the purpose to stimulate Nordic collaboration in the field of gender equality.
Many countries and regions around the world are still characterised by significant differences in living conditions between different groups of women and men, girls and boys. There are structural differences in terms of power and influence, discrimination, education, occupation, position, income, pay and career, as well as exposure to violence and health.
One of the challenges, noted by the Nordic Council of Ministers, is the growing resistance, regression and push-back against gender equality, both globally and within the Nordic region. In light of this growing polarization, the ministers are committed to maintain the Nordic achievements and push for further progress.
The Nordic Gender Equality Fund finances collaborations that promote gender equality. Through the Fund, the Nordic Council of Ministers opens an annual call for proposals for funding projects in which at least three different organisations, from at least three different Nordic countries, collaborate.
The projects can, for example, contribute to new knowledge, exchange of experience and Nordic networks. On the page “Previuous fund initiatives” (link), you can see the projects that have been awarded funding. Do you have a project idea? Take a look at your Nordic neighbours, seek cooperation and share the knowledge you create.
NIKK administers the fund on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers, which includes announcing calls for proposals, assessing applications and following up on results.
