Nordic Network for Resilient Gender Studies: Empowering Communities, Fostering Academic Freedom (RESILIENT)

RESILIENT is a Nordic network dedicated to strengthening Gender Studies and safeguarding academic freedom in a time of growing political, cultural, and institutional pressures on critical knowledge production. Bringing together researchers and practitioners across the Nordic region, the project will map challenges facing Gender Studies and DEIA initiatives, incl. but not limited to: harassment, silencing, and institutional constraints. Through collaborative workshops, mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and public engagement, RESILIENT will facilitate the exchange of experiences and insights, laying the groundwork for shared resources and recommendations for universities, policymakers, and civil society.

By fostering Nordic-wide solidarity and generating new comparative knowledge across national contexts, the network will strengthen resilient academic communities, protect the conditions for open, diverse, and democratic knowledge production, and inspire future collaborations.
