Pushing for progress and would benefit from collaboration and more resources? Then you have come to the right place. NIKK administers two funds on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers, with the purpose to stimulate Nordic collaboration in the field of gender equality and LGBTI.
Through the work of many the Nordic region has come far, but many challenges remain before everyone enjoys equal opportunities regardless of gender, gender identity or sexual orientation.
One of the challenges, noted by the Nordic Council of Ministers, is the growing resistance, regression and push-back against gender equality and equal rights for LGBTI persons, both globally and within the Nordic region. In light of this growing polarization, the ministers are committed to maintain the Nordic achievements and push for further progress.
Although many of the challenges are common, we often try to solve them on our own. It is easier to face them and push for progress if several actors work together. Do you have an idea for a project? Look to your Nordic neighbours, seek collaboration and share the knowledge you create.
NIKK administers the Nordic gender equality fund and the Nordic LGBTI fund on behalf of the Nordic Council of Ministers. The purpose is to stimulate Nordic collaboration in the field of gender equality and LGBTI, within the Nordic Co-operation Programme for Gender Equality and LGBTI 2025-2030
Each fund opens for applications once a year. Funding is awarded projects in which at least three organisations, from at least three Nordic countries work together. Nordic co-operation in the field of gender equality and LGBTI can, amongst other things, result in things like legislative proposals, policy documents, books, conferences, networks, comparative studies and training tools.
Thanks to collaborations, knowledge is growing and being shared across borders. We push for progress, find common solutions and learn from each other.
